Italian trade office in Calcutta

Calcutta, Oct. 15: The Italian trade commission will open its third office in the country in Calcutta, after New Delhi and Mumbai.

“This shows the importance of business opportunities in Bengal for Italian companies,” Italian consul general Bruno Campria said at an interactive meet organised by the Bharat Chamber of Commerce here today.

The commission will increase awareness among Italian companies about the state and the eastern region. It will also help companies find joint venture partners for projects. Campria said the focus would be on food processing, textile, leather and chemicals.

Italian firms will provide technical and financial assistance to water and waste management projects of municipalities.
