CBI monitors Shillong probe

Shillong, Sept. 29: Vijay Shankar, CBI director, arrived here last evening to monitor the progress of the case regarding the death of former Meghalaya director-general of police W.R. Marbaniang’s domestic help, Rinehskhem Kharsohnoh.

Senior officials, including eastern zone director H.C. Singh and deputy inspector-general of the CBI’s northeast region Doley Barman, accompanied Shankar.

Kharsohnoh was found dead at Marbaniang’s house on March 7, following which the CID initiated a probe.

The CID conducted two post-mortems leading to the arrest of Arwil Sangma, a constable who also worked as a part-time cook-cum-sentry at Marbaniang’s residence.
