Child raped

Kanpur, Sept. 28 (PTI): A six-year-old was allegedly raped and thrown on railway tracks, said police.

Medical examination confirmed she was assaulted. Her family has alleged that a rickshaw-puller in the neighbourhood, missing since the incident, is the rapist.

New Delhi (PTI): Cambridge University will put up a memorial plaque to honour scientist Jagdish Chandra Bose, an alumnus, to mark his 150th birth anniversary in November 2008.
