Indian airline’s Calcutta-Aizawl flight returned after the aircraft failed to land at the northeastern destination because of bad weather. The flight took off at 1.50pm and landed at Imphal. However, when it approached Aizawl, it could not land and returned around 4.15pm.
Runway dent
A small part of Calcutta airport’s main runway was found damaged on Thursday morning. The pilot of Air Deccan’s Calcutta-Port Blair flight noticed the small dent on the surface at the threshold of the runway while taking off. He reported the damage to the airport authorities and it was repaired immediately. Officials said it was probably caused by an aircraft taking a sharp turn during take-off.
