Forex kitty

Mumbai, Aug. 25: The country’s foreign exchange reserves have dropped by $2.55 billion to $226.44 billion for the week ended August 17. The forex reserves have declined for the second consecutive week. In the previous week, the reserves slipped by $346 million to $228.996 billion. According to data collated by the Reserve Bank, foreign currency assets decreased $2.55 billion to $219.103 billion during the week. The RBI said foreign currency assets included the effect of appreciation or depreciation of euro, pound sterling and yen.

Sun Pharma

New Delhi, Aug. 25: Sun Pharmaceutical has received the US Food and Drug Administration’s approval for its abbreviated new drug application carbidopa and levodopa, used in the treatment of parkinson’s disease. Carbidopa and levodopa are generic equivalents of Bristol Myers Squibbs’ Sinemet CR.
