New aviation norms

New Delhi, Aug. 23: The government has issued guidelines to create a separate category of regional airlines and decided to give them sops such as waiver on some aviation charges. This new category of airlines will be allowed to operate between airports of any four regions — north, south, west and east/Northeast.

NSE stake

Mumbai, Aug. 23: Financial Technologies India Ltd, the parent of commodity bourse MCX, has acquired a 1 per cent stake in the NSE from icici Bank for Rs 125 crore.

Polyester duty

New Delhi, Aug. 23 : India has withdrawn anti-dumping duties imposed on polyester from South Korea and Turkey. The government imposed duties on partially-oriented polyester yarns in 2001 and the duties were revised to $0.43-0.54 per kg for Turkey and $0.6 per kg for Korea in 2002.

Sebi rule

Mumbai, Aug. 23: Sebi has prescribed conditions for allowing National Securities Depository Ltd to carry out certain non-core activities of a central record-keeping agency under the new pension scheme.

Moser Baer

Mumbai, Aug. 23: Moser Baer India has said Dutch firm Koninklijke Philips Electronics has filed a suit against the company in a district court in the Netherlands in relation to a patent licence agreement between the two firms.
