Five-way lead in student’s meet

Five players — Bitan Banerjee, Sayantan Das, Diptayan Ghosh, Sayan Majumder and Shantanil Simlai — shared the lead with four points each after as many rounds in the students chess tournament organised by City Chess Forum at Baghajatin. A total of 122 players are in the fray. Five more players share the second spot with 3.5 points apiece.

Waterpolo

Taldi Swimming Centre beat Salkia Swimming Association 11-3 in the YMCA All Bengal Waterpolo tournament. Prosenjit Bhanja was the top scorer with five goals.
