CA goes missing from train

Calcutta, Aug. 18: Biswajit Guha, a chartered accountant and brother of author Buddhadeb Guha, has gone missing.

He got down from Shatabdi Express at Asansol station last evening and did not return.

He had gone Ranchi on job and was travelling with colleagues in his audit firm.

The Guhas went to the CID headquarters at Bhawani Bhavan today. “We have no information about him. His cellphone is switched off,” said Biswajit’s other brother, Indrajit.

“Our preliminary investigation has revealed that his phone was working till 10.20pm yesterday, when he was at Chhatna in Bankura (about 150km from Asansol),” said additional director-general of police Bhupinder Singh.

Biswajit was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

“At Asansol, he told colleagues he’d return soon and wa-lked towards the door,” a CID officer said. Biswajit’s companions raised the alarm as the train started moving again.
