Melbourne, Aug. 14 (PTI): The military bosses of 19 countries, including India and the US, held a “secret meeting” in Sydney in the run-up to an Asia-Pacific summit there next month, the Australian army chief revealed today.

“We were aware that there’s a lot going on in Sydney and we didn’t want to make a fuss,” Lt Gen. Peter Leahy said in reference to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Sydney on September 8-9.

Regional and global security was discussed as well as the types of new missions armies have to carry out, a report said.
