Moosic (US): Arjun Atwal managed a one-under 70 in the opening round of the Nationwide Tour’s Northeast Pennsylvania Classic golf meet.

Atwal is in 63rd spot and needs to improve his 46th place on the Nationwide money list to No. 25 for a PGA Tour card for 2008.

Atwal started on the 10th and had birdies on the 15th, first and the eighth holes. His only blemish was a double bogey on the third.

Chad Collins shot a nine-under 62 to take the lead. He was two shots in front of Jim McGovern, Jeff Curl and Chris Anderson. (PTI)
