Bhowanipore champions

Bhowanipore Boxing Association emerged champions in the senior state boxing championship at KSOPC. Howrah District Boxing Association were runners up. The Bengal squad for the national — scheduled from August 25-31 in New Delhi — will undergo a 10-day preparatory camp.

Bagan letter

Mohun Bagan on Monday wrote a letter to the IFA requesting it to look into referee Kashinath Sen’s handling of their match against Chirag United SC. They have also asked for an outstation official for the match against East Bengal on August 17. East Bengal have also requested the IFA to advance their match against Peerless by a day to August 11, to facilitate preparations for East Bengal Day two days later.

Eden inspection

Under the BCCI’s instruction, East Zone pitch consultant Prabir Mukherjee on Monday inspected Eden Gardens as part of its preparation for the Test against Pakistan in November.
