No Indian among list of officials

Calcutta: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday announced a list of three Match Referees and nine umpires to officiate in the ICC World Twenty20 tournament to be held in South Africa from September 11-24.

Headed by former Sri Lanka captain Ranjan Madugalle, the Emirates Elite Panel referees also include Mike Procter, the former South Africa allrounder and former England opening batsman Chris Broad, according to an ICC release.

The nine umpires set to stand in the tournament include five officials from the Elite Panel — Mark Benson, Billy Doctrove, Daryl Harper, Asad Rauf and Simon Taufel. No Indian figures on the list.

The four other umpires are all from the Emirates International Panel — Steve Davis, Ian Howell, Nigel Llong and Tony Hill.

The ICC World Twenty20 involves the 10 ICC full members and two associate teams Kenya and Scotland. The meet will be held in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
