Imphal, July 18: SAI-RC won the 3rd Governor’s Cup State- level Fencing Championship, 2007, tallying 94 points at the Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium last evening.

SAI-RC bagged eight gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze medals, garnering 94 points, while Meetei Ipa Ipu Salai Inat Khongul Liba Lup (with 12 gold, four silver and 15 bronze) came second scoring 87 points. Meitei Thang Ta Satjal Cultural Association came third with five silver and nine bronze medals, collecting 24 points while Manipur Police Sports Club with three gold and one bronze and 16 points came fourth.

Social Worker Congress Khongman with two silver and one bronze and Rising Student Club with one gold came fifth and sixth.

Oriental Labourers Association with four bronze and Youth Development Club with two bronze came seventh and eight. Manipur Governor S.S. Sidhu, youth affairs and sports minister N. Biren Singh and MLA S. Kunjekeshore distributed the prizes.
