RIL gas case

Mumbai, July 18: Bombay High Court has refused to stay an interim order barring Reliance Industries from selling gas from KG Basin to any other company except the Anil Ambani group and ntpc, but allowed the government to go ahead with fixing the gas price.

New York, July 18: The Dow Jones board has cleared a $5-billion buyout offer from Rupert Murdoch’s NewsCorp. The 16-member board was not unanimous in its decision but a “strong majority” approved the deal, a source said.

Oil bonds

New Delhi July 18: Petroleum minister Murli Deora has asked finance minister P. Chidambaram to issue oil bonds worth Rs 19,000 crore to absorb one-third impact of the surge in international oil prices and compensate the state-run firms for selling the fuel below the cost.
