New Delhi: Sania Mirza jumped six spots to No. 38 in the WTA rankings announced on Monday, despite her second-round exit at Wimbledon. The Indian, ranked 44 before the tournament, lost to 11th seed Nadia Petrova. She also jumped two notches in the individual doubles rankings to 38.
Wimbledon womens champion Venus Williams moved 14 places to No. 17, while runner-up Marion Bartoli moved eight to No. 11.
On the mens side, Leander
Paes moved up one place to ninth spot in the individual
doubles rankings, while Mahesh Bhupathi dropped one place
to 21.
