Tata-Vietnam pact

Calcutta, July 7: Tata Steel has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Vietnam Steel Corporation in New Delhi today. The agreement was signed between Dau Van Hung, president of Vietnam Steel, and T. Mukherjee, deputy managing director of Tata Steel, in the presence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Vietnamese counterpart, H.E. Nguyen Tan Dung.

Tata Steel will cooperate with Vietnam Steel to train the latter’s employees and help in product development. The company will also help Vietnam Steel develop a steel strategy.

On May 29 this year, Tata Steel had entered into an MoU with Vietnam Steel for steel and mining projects in the Ha Tinh province. Tan Dung recently visited Tata Steel’s Jamshedpur plant and extended his support for the projects.
