Israel keen to help Arunachal

Itanagar, June 20: Israel is keen to provide Arunachal Pradesh with technological knowhow in the micro irrigation sector, Israeli ambassador David Danieli said here today.

Danieli, who arrived here yesterday on a three-day visit to the state, told newspersons that Arunachal Pradesh could progress in the agrarian sector in a big way by adopting cash crops and applying advanced agricultural knowhow.

He also expressed his country’s eagerness to help the state find an alternative to jhum cultivation, adding that Netafim, an Israeli company, has been providing technological assistance to farmers in Maharashtra.

Danieli also met Governor S.K. Singh at the Raj Bhavan.
