Word wonder

Scribbles and Strokes is a first-time effort by Sohini Basak, a student of Class IX, at the Modern English Academy, Barrackpore. The book is a collection of her poems, short stories and illustrations since the age of four. An avid reader, she admires Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling among others. Of them, Rowling’s influence is most obvious. Someday, if she cannot make it as a writer, she hopes to be a cartoonist. Basak is also keen on photography. Variety sure is the spice of this girl’s life.
