From Bengal to India

Ranadeb Bose is the seventh mediumpacer from Bengal to have made the India cut. The years of their India call-up are mentioned alongside. The following is the list:

** Sarobindu Nath (Shute) Banerjee (1935-36 to 1936-37 for Bengal) — 1936, 1946, 1948-49 (1 Test).

** Sudangsu Abinash (Mantu) Banerjee — 1948-49 (1 Test).

** Nirode Ranjan Chowdhury (1944-45 to 1954-55 for Bengal) — 1948-49, 1951-52 (2 Tests).

** Subroto Guha —1967, 1969-70 (4 Tests).

** Laxmi Ratan Shukla — 1998-99 to 1999-2000 (3 ODIs).

** Shib Shankar Paul — 2004-05.

** Ranadeb Bose —2007.

Note —

Dattu Phadkar made his India debut when playing for Bombay. He played 31 Tests, which included eight during his stint with Bengal (1954-55 to 1957-58).

Chetan Sharma and Subroto Banerjee also made their India debut while playing for Haryana and Bihar, respectively. During his years with Bengal, Chetan (1993-94 to 1996-97) played three ODIs while Subroto (1996-97 to 1998-99) never featured in a Test or ODI.

Barun Burman played one unofficial Test match against Sri Lanka in 1975-76 in India.
