| One should live in a house with a regular
shape, built on a well-balanced plot |
Q:We have purchased a plot of land which
is unequal in length. It is 46feet wide, with a length of
130feet (west) and 126feet (east). The road lies along the
northern boundary. Please advice on how we can nullify any
adverse effect the shape of this plot might have on our
family. My date of birth is 15.1.1967 and my husband’s is
7.8.1966.

A: Feng Shui advises us to live in a house that has a regular shape and is also built on a well-balanced plot. In your case I find that the length exceeds the width and is not in the ratio of 2:1. This completely goes against feng shui principles as the energy moves very fast in a straight line. If this plot is not corrected in the planning stages then you can face the problem of dwindling finances and may not hold on to family relationships. Since your plot is tapering from southwest to southeast, it will be best to first demarcate it into a straight line at 126 feet. You can put a copper wire in the ground and make a dwarf boundary wall to regularise your plot. In the remaining angular four feet, you can plant saplings. Your plot can be divided into two portions. But any one area should not exceed 92 feet in length. Again, this demarcation should be made with a copper wire in the ground and while doing your interiors, this line has to be maintained with the help of partitions, which can be in the form of bricks, wood or glass. Both of you belong to the same animal sign Horse and are also strong earth people. All you need to do is balance yourself with metal and water elements and their related colours like white, grey, blue and black.
Q: I have purchased a plot
of land and want to start a coaching centre. I need
two classrooms, which can accommodate about 50 students
in each room and a room for the faculty and myself.
A small canteen with a kitchen and an office room for the
accountant and cashier along with a small reception
area are required. I will be obliged if you kindly
tell me the best location for my requirements.
P. Saikia
A: The classrooms should be in the northeast as this area is connected with education. You should occupy the southwest to help you stabilise your new business. The faculty should be in the northwest and the canteen can be located in the east with the kitchen in the southeast. The accountant and cashier can be accommodated in the northern sector, made to sit in the southwest facing north. The cash box should always open towards north to let the money keep rolling in. The best area for the entrance and the reception would be north, east or northeast.
