Novel Ideas

All you bookworms out there can breathe a sigh of relief now that the website www.dailylit.com has come out with a rather innovative scheme of offering book lovers, a daily dose of ‘classic’ reading for five minutes. The website offers golden classics like Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Lewis Carrol’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Jean Webster’s Daddy Long Legs to be read on the Internet for five minutes every day. The website delivers these classics divided into several parts to the reader’s inbox, absolutely free of cost, in order to suit the reader’s convenience. As many as 70,000 readers have signed up for various titles, and the company is also planning to make similar arrangements with publishers of newer books. In addition to all this, the website is all geared up to offer lessons in language skills. That’s quite a package, don’t you think?

Animal love

Heard of great friend- ships? Well, a donkey and a wolf have become rather friendly with each other in the northwestern town of Patok in Albania. It has been reported that the two have been sharing a cage for the past four months since the donkey was brought in to the enclosure to be fed to the wolf. Amazing, isn’t it? Three cheers for these unlikely friends!
