Ranchi, June 5: Around 3,000 students have qualified in engineering and medical streams of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination this year, the results of which were declared late in the night yesterday.
Students who cleared the preliminary examinations held in April, had appeared in main examination on May 23.
Students who have qualified in engineering have to appear for a counselling session on June 25 while those who have qualified in medical have to appear for counselling on July 23rd.
Mumun Sinha topped the state in the state’s medical entrance, while Satyankar was the state topper in engineering. Sinha has also qualified in the written examinations of Armed Forces Medical College (Pune), the interview of which will be held on June 18. Sinha is also keeping her fingers crossed for the CBSE results.
“Ideally I would not want to join a state level medical college. Gaining admission in alevel medical college like the All India Institute of Medical Sciences is my dream,” said the medical topper.
As far as her preparations went, rather than take tuition, she depended only on her school, DAV Shyamali.
“I had not taken any tuition but instead relied on my school syllabus, which also helped me prepare for competitive examinations,” Mumun said, adding that she used to study six hours a day.
Her father A.K. Sinha and mother — A.K Sinha and Pushpa — both are doctors. “We are not surprised that she topped the state as I expected a rank from her,” said the proud mother.
