Dhanbad, June 4: Sabir Alam, the prime accused in the infamous double murder case of October 8, 2001, was awarded life sentence on Monday, reports our correspondent. The court of R.S. Shukla, the additional district judge in the fast-track court VI, pronounced the punishment.

Alam would be serving the life term in the Dhanbad district jail as several cases are pending against him in the Dhanbad court.
