Randhawa up to tied 29th

Celtic Manor: Jyoti Randhawa returned a one-under 68 to move up to tied 29th, while Shiv Kapur carded a two-over 71 to slip to tied 61st spot after Round III of the Celtic Manor Wales Open on Saturday.

Randhawa’s 68 took his three-day total to four-under 203 and Kapur stood one-over 208. Randhawa made a bad start with bogeys on the fourth and fifth holes. A birdie on the sixth hole was followed by a bogey on the eighth as he made the tun two-over.

He then played a flawless back nine with birdies on the 13th, 14th and 16th.

Kapur had four bogeys, two on either side of the turn, and two birdies on the back nine for a two-over 71.

Welshman Bradley Dredge put himself in a position to become the first Welsh winner of his country’s national open.

He goes into the last round in the final grouping of the day, tied at 10-under 197 with German Martin Kaymer. (Pti)
