Calcutta: South Africa captain, Graeme Smith is recovering from a knee operation he had on Tuesday in Cape Town.

According to a media release, Smith had to undergo surgery upon returning to South Africa, after twisting his left knee during the match against England at the World Cup.

Shane Jabaar, the South African physiotherapist said in a statement: “Graeme will now undergo an intensive rehabilitation programme and based on his response to the programme, we will be able to indicate when he’ll be able to get back to practice and then play.”
