CBI surrender

Dhanbad, May 15: Aniruddha Mishra, the personal assistant of the late MCC legislator from Nirsa, Gurudas Chatterjee, today surrendered in the court.

He surrendered before the special court of CBI-cum-sub judicial magistrate A.K. Mishra in connection with the triple murder case of Sushanto Sengupta, the then state vice-president of Forward Bloc and husband of present Forward Bloc president and Nirsa legislator Aparna Sengupta, his brother Sanjay Sengupta and driver D.D. Pal.

The court forwarded Mishra to jail after taking him under judicial custody. Ironically, Mishra was not one of the accused persons named in the chargesheet submitted by the CBI earlier in the court.

The special crime branch of CBI Lucknow had registered the case in 2004 in RC case no. 5/04. It had submitted two chargesheets against six persons. All the cases are going on in the court of XIII additional district judge.
