Voltas net up 164%

Voltas Ltd has posted a five-fold increase in net profit at Rs 120 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, on the back of a better performance by electro mechanical, engineering and cooling divisions. Profit after tax rose 164 per cent to Rs 186 crore from Rs 70 crore in the previous year. Net sales of the company increased 38 per cent to Rs 730 crore from Rs 530 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. The board of directors has declared a dividend of 100 per cent on the equity shares of Re 1 each for the year ended March 31.

Shree Cement

Shree Cement has posted a 181 per cent rise in operating profits at Rs 632.87 crore in 2006-07 against Rs 225.18 crore last year. The turnover more than doubled to Rs 1,367.98 crore from Rs 669.39 crore. Net profit increased to Rs 177 crore from Rs 18.40 crore. The company’s board has recommended an interim dividend of Rs 6 per share in March 2007.

Ratnabali

City-based Ratnabali Capital Markets Ltd has reported a profit after tax of Rs 16.43 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 compared with Rs 16.65 crore last year. Profit before tax was Rs 18.37 crore while income from operations increased 114 per cent to Rs 94.58 crore. The company’s board has recommended an interim dividend of Rs 6 per share for 2006-07.

Allsec Tech

The board of directors of Allsec Technologies Ltd has announced a 50 per cent dividend for 2006-07. The company has posted a 30 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 28.13 crore in 2006-07 against Rs 21.63 crore previous year.

Everest Kanto

Everest Kanto Cylinder Ltd’s board of directors will meet on May 21, 2007, to consider a proposal to sub-divide the company’s equity shares having a face value of Rs 10 each.

Bajaj Allianz

Bajaj Allianz has reported a profit of Rs 63 crore for 2006-07. The company sold two million policies in a single financial year.

Wipro pact

Wipro Infotech has signed an MoU with the Centre for Education of Aligarh University. Wipro will be the IT services partner for the institute’s e-learning programme.
