Chopra tied 41st

Ponte Vedra: Daniel Chopra got off to a modest start with a two-over 74 to be tied 41st at the Players’ Championship on Thursday.

South African Rory Sabbatini carded a 67 and was tied alongside American Phil Mickelson for the top spot, Tiger Woods opened with a three-over 75.

South Korea’s K.J. Choi fired a one-under-par 71 to end the day at joint ninth.

Fijian Vijai Singh and Adam Scott of Australia also shot 74s. A stroke behind was Woods, with three bogeys, and former Asian Tour regular Dean Wilson.
