Bangla curbs

Dhaka, May 11 (Reuters): Bangladesh’s interim government has eased restrictions on former Prime Ministers Sheikh Hasina and Begum Khaleda Zia.

Leaders of Hasina’s Awami League met her at home yesterday, while Khaleda was allowed to visit a relative. Security forces arrested a journalist, Tasneem Khalil, in Dhaka for criticism of the government.

US threat

Washington (Reuters): US and German officials said on Friday there was no new security threat in Germany after ABC News reported that terrorists were planning an attack on US military personnel in Germany.

Paris jail

Los Angeles (AP): Paris Hilton may spend far less than the 45 days she has been sentenced to serve in county jail.
