Bhubaneswar, May 7: City police today arrested two engineering students from the busy Saheed Nagar Complex where they were trying to dispose off a stolen laptop.

The IBM R-51 laptop was lifted by the duo from room 2 of the Om Sai Hostel last Friday.

The duo, Daman Kumar Patra and Pinaki Sahoo, were also residents of the same hostel. While Daman is a student of Patrapada Engineering College, Pinaki studies at Silicon Engineering College.

Daman had borrowed Rs 10,000 from Pinaki and promised to return him the amount as soon as his parents send him the money.

However, when his family could not send him the money Pinaki convinced Daman that they could steal a laptop that belonged to fellow student Akash Patel and sell for a good amount.

“We had been suspecting the duo ever since they disappeared suddenly from the hostel and had been keeping a close watch on the two,” said Sahoo.
