Imphal, May 3: Manipur Speaker S. Budhichandra Singh today rejected a call attention motion served by the Opposition to discuss the recent communal flare-up in Dimapur in which the houses of Tangkhul Nagas were targeted.

The new session began today.

R.K. Anand Singh, a member of the Manipur People’s Party (MPP), served the notice, saying the Manipur government should come forward to help the victims of the carnage.

The Tangkhul community is concentrated in Manipur’s Ukhrul district, the home district of NSCN (I-M) supremo Thuingaleng Muivah.
