Bata PAT rises
Bata India has reported a 14.51 per cent growth in profit after tax at Rs 5.05 crore in the first quarter ended March 31 compared with Rs 4.41 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Total income rose to Rs 183.76 crore from Rs 167.88 crore a year ago. The company clocked a profit before tax at Rs 9.09 crore against Rs 4.81 crore in the year-ago period.
Castrol India has registered a 29.18 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 41.52 crore for the first quarter ended March 31 compared with Rs 32.14 crore in the year-ago period. The company has posted a 18.28 per cent rise in total income at Rs 449.40 crore against Rs 379.94 crore in the same period of 2006.
Raymond Ltd has recorded a 69.4 per cent drop in net profit to Rs 10.67 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31 from Rs 34.81 crore a year ago. Total income slumped to Rs 357.09 crore from Rs 400.22 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
