Mumbai: A day after he refused to seek an extension of his contract in Bengal, Paras Mhambrey has been appointed as a new coach of the Baroda Ranji team. The former Indian mediumpacer will also be the in-charge of its proposed state cricket academy.

Mhambrey, who replaces former Test opener Ashok Mankad, had guided Bengal to two successive Ranji Trophy finals.
