Exhume order

Shillong, April 29 (PTI): Fifty days after the funeral, the body of a maid working for former Meghalaya director-general of police W.R. Marbaniang has been exhumed for a fresh post-mortem.

CID officials dug out the body of Rinehskhem Kharsohnoh from Jongksha village, on the outskirts of Shillong, yesterday, following court orders.

An on-the-spot autopsy was carried out by three doctors of Gauhati Medical College.

Kharsohnoh was found dead at Marbaniang’s residence on March 7, leading to his transfer following public outcry.

The case was handed over to the CID after some NGOs alleged foul play.
