Young voices for education

Ranchi, April 24: When children speak, people better listen.

At least when 19,000 children from 150 schools from all over the state get together for a cause, they will ensure that the policy-makers sit up and take notice.

Ranchi remains no exception in the world-wide celebration of Global Action Week that starts from tomorrow.

The Jharkhand chapter of Christian Children Fund (CCF), India, will join hands with 18 other NGOs of the state to demand for “Education For All” in the state. As part of their celebrations, approximately 500 children from Jharkhand and Bihar will take part in a rally tomorrow, said Sanjeev Kumar Singh, area manager of CCF.

“Hundreds and thousands of children from all across the world will come together to raise their voice and highlight education as a human right,” said Singh.

Some of the creative work of selected children will be also exhibited tomorrow. Last year, CCF had run a postcard campaign similar to the essay campaign this year.

A Children’s Voice Gallery will be inaugurated by the health minister, Bhanu Pratap Sahi,” said Partho Lomew, zonal coordinator, CCF.
