Meet to plan event course

Ranchi, April 16: The eastern zone of the Christian Children Fund (CCF), India, met today to discuss the preparations for the Global Action Week of Education, scheduled to start on April 25.

During the week-long celebrations, competitions such as debate, essay writing, drawing, poster making and other cultural programmes would be organised, said Mrityunjay Oreya, coordination secretary of CCF.

The Christian Children Fund is an international child development organisation that looks after the development of children in rural areas who study at government schools.

Christian Children Fund activists in Jharkhand, Bihar and Orissa will be participating in the Global Action Week of Education and children from over 150 government-run schools are expected to participate.

CCF has approximately 15 ongoing projects in these three states.

The state and block-level school programme will be conducted till the April 23 and more than 19,000 children will participate in it, Oreya added.

At the meeting, it was decided that 400 participants would be invited to a programme on April 25 where they would exhibit their creations, said Augustine Kujur, member of the Christian Children Fund.

Several state VIPs have reportedly agreed to be guests at the event.
