Bernard Bagan’s interim coach

Calcutta: Bernard Operanhozie will be the makeshift coach for Mohun Bagan in the rest of the season. Announcing the Nigerian’s appointment to the hot seat following Chima Okerie’s resignation, the club said that Bernard would be assisted by Bhaichung Bhutia and Jose Ramirez Barreto.

Mohun Bagan are scheduled to play three AFC Cup and six National Football League matches this season.

This was decided after the club’s executive committee meeting on Thursday evening. “We’ll not appoint a full-time new coach this season. We have asked Bernanrd to take charge and he will coach the side in consultation with Bhaichung and Barreto,” said Mohun Bagan secretary Anjan Mitra.

Mitra also rued that they were yet to recieve their share of funds from gate sells during the last three NFLs and demanded that they be allowed to host home matches in the Pro League.
