3 silvers for India

New Delhi: Indian challenge at the 29th Kings Cup Boxing Championships ended with a tally of three silver medals and one bronze.

Hosts Thailand retained the team championship and Uzbekistan were the runners-up. Jitender Kumar lost to local hero Somjit Jongjor in the 51kg class. Narjit Singh was outpunched by Abutalipov Kanat of Kazakhstan when referee topped the contest rsc (os) in their 54kg division bout.

Vijender was outclassed by Rasulov Elshod of Uzbekistan in the 75kg category. Dinesh Kumar received the bronze for his semi-final appearance. (PTI)
