Ranchi, March 26: The Jharkhand
Public Service Commission (JPSC) today cancelled the examination
conducted for selection of candidates as co-operative extension
(COE) officer and senior audit officer (SAO).
Now the same examination will be organised again on May 20.
Confirming the cancellation, JPSC chairman Dilip Prasad said with the decision, the admit cards issued earlier will no longer be valid. “We will issue a fresh admit card to the candidates. We have also decided to use some technique to root out any possibility of duplication,” he added.
Prasad also said the commission would probe the reason behind the anomalies in admit card and take appropriate action against the person responsible.
The situation came into the fore when candidates boycotted JPSC examination at four of 108 centres throughout the state on Sunday. The candidates had taken action alleging grave anomalies in the issuance of the admit cards.
Ranchi deputy commissioner Kamal Kishore Soan has already recommended re-examination in three centres of the city including St Kuldeep School, DAV, Dhurwa, and Sector III Girls High School.
JPSC has to select 164 CEOs and 133 SAOs from around 50,000 candidates appearing in the examination.
