Russia mine disaster

Ulyanovskaya Mine (Russia), March 20 (Reuters): Rescuers found one survivor today and hunted for four still missing in a Siberian coal mine, after 106 workers died in Russia’s worst mining disaster since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Emergencies minister Sergei Shoigu said one man had been rescued from the pit alive a day after a gas explosion devastated it.

Cheney leg

Washington (AP): Vice-President Dick Cheney went to a hospital on Tuesday after experiencing discomfort in his left lower leg, where a blood clot was discovered a few weeks ago. He returned to the White House after some tests.
