GSA cricket

Guwahati: The Guwahati Sports Association will hold the Madhab Ram Bora A-division, B-division and inter-school cricket tournaments from March 25. Participating clubs and institutions have been asked to contact the GSA office between 6 pm to 7.30 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Nagaon league

Guwahati: Star Sporting Club on Monday stormed into the final of the A.N. Kidwai Nowgong Sports Association first division cricket meet, thrashing Sanjiban Samaj by 134 runs at Nurul Amin Stadium. Star Sporting posted 246 for eight in 40 overs, with Tauhid Ali Talukdar scoring 81 and Arpan Bora remaining unbeaten on 58. Later, Shyam Baruah claimed five wickets to bundle out the opponents for 112 in 24 overs.

Marathon

Imphal: A total of 354 participants have registered for the United People’s Front-organised Mega Manipur Marathon 2007, to be flagged off from Kangla Fort on March 25. The 21-km marathon has a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for the winner.

Felicitation

Dibrugarh: OIL will fete paddlers Mouma Das and Subhajit Saha at the Nehru Maidam Indoor Stadium in Duliajan on Tuesday for their performance representing Petroleum Sports Promotion Board in the recent senior nationals.
