Superhero Sachin

Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar, the maestro, is to be featured as a superhero in a new range of comic books, animation and games to hit the stands in June. The character is to be known as Sachin Tendulkar — the Master Blaster and the images released by the publishers on Saturday shows him dressed as a modern animation action hero.

Pawar plan

Baramati: BCCI president Sharad Pawar will seek the Speaker’s permission to stay away from Parliament if India were to make the semis or final. “Parliament will be working on those days. The only way I will be able to watch them is if a colleague takes those questions for me,” said Pawar, also a Union agriculture minister.

Clueless Dutch

Amsterdam: The Netherlands became part of World Cup history 24 hours earlier, but on Saturday few of their citizens knew much about it. “I didn’t know there was a Dutch team. But I guess they have teams for everything,” said Giovanni, who works in a Haarlem hospital.
