Alipurduar, March 5: Eighteen-year-old Sankar Gosai (in picture) of Ramjhora Tea Estate died at Birpara State General Hospital this morning.

The resident of Jogi line of the closed garden in the Madarihat-Birpara block was suffering from acute anaemia.

A health team visiting the garden had admitted Sankar to the hospital a few days ago. “The doctors had asked me to get six of bottles of blood, but we could just about manage one bottle. If Sankar could be sent to the hospital earlier and some more blood could be given to him, he might have lived,” said Ramkishan, Sankar’s father.
