Court clears Serbia

The Hague, Feb. 26 (Reuters): The highest UN court cleared the Serbian state today of direct responsibility for genocide in Bosnia during the 1992-95 war, but said it had violated its responsibility to prevent genocide.

Bosnia had asked the International Court of Justice to rule on whether Serbia committed genocide through the killing, rape and ethnic cleansing that ravaged Bosnia during the war.

Dhaka fire

Dhaka (Reuters): At least three people died and dozens were injured on Monday in a fire that raged through a Dhaka building housing two private TV channels and a newspaper office.

Iraq leader ill

Baghdad (Reuters): Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is suffering from extreme exhaustion and dehydration but his life is not in danger, his office said on Monday.
