Jamshedpur, Feb. 25: Sandip Adesra romped home to become the winner in the men’s category of the 6th Tata Power Golf Tournament played at both the Golmuri and Beldih golf courses here today.

Following close behind, H.S. Sabharwal notched the runners-up position in the same category. Navtej Singh won the best gross award in the men’s section.

In the ladies section, Sujata Sachdev went through her paces brilliantly to notch the winners’ award while Urmila Srivastav secured the runners-up award in the same section. Sujata won the best gross award in the ladies section too.

The event saw the participation of top corporate honchos, including Tata Steel managing director B. Muthuraman, deputy-managing director of Tata Steel A.N. Singh and Sanjiv Paul, MD, Jusco. Around 150 golfers took part in the event.

Prizes were also given away in the men’s category according to level of handicap. While Uday Dhir bagged the first position in the handicap category (25-36), T.P. Sinha bagged the second place in the same section.

Similarly, P.K. Dhawan bagged the first place in the handicap category (19-24) while Giru Banerjee managed a second place in the same.

In the handicap category (10-18), Udit Kumar Sarkar got the first place while Rohinton Pithawala secured the second place.

Ravi Rungta displayed a brilliant performance to bag the first place in the handicap category (0-9) while Bipin Patel managed the second place in the same event.
