Surgery to ‘look awake’

Los Angeles, Feb. 24: George Clooney has admitted to having cosmetic surgery on his eyes to make himself “look awake”.

The Hollywood heart-throb made the revelation during an interview with Julia Roberts, his Oceans Eleven co-star and fellow Oscar winner, for a special Academy Award-themed episode of Oprah Winfrey’s talk show.

Roberts questioned the 46-year-old actor at his Hollywood Hills home for the broadcast.

When asked what had been the recent biggest change in his life, Clooney replied: “I had my eyes done. Can you tell' I think it’s important to look awake.”

The actor then asked the pregnant mother-of-two Roberts if she had had any cosmetic work. The 39-year-old insisted she has not had any surgery “yet”.

Roberts also quizzed Clooney about his love life before another Ocean’s Eleven co-star, Brad Pitt, rang in to surprise the couple and offer Roberts some interviewing tips.

Winfrey also recruited celebrity interviewers Russell Crowe, who questioned fellow

Antipodean Nicole Kidman, and Jamie Foxx, for the Oprah Winfrey Oscar Special. Foxx chose to interview Sidney Poitier, the first African American to win a best actor Oscar.

In his interview with Kidman, Crowe asked the Oscar-winning actress about her relationship with husband Keith Urban, who recently spent several months in rehab, and whether she planned to have a baby.

“Am I going to have a baby' I hope so,” Kidman said. “Well, I just want to see you walk around barefoot and pregnant,” Crowe said a bit later. “I’d like to see that too,” Kidman replied.
