LSE looks East
London, Feb. 11: The London Stock Exchange said today an agreement would be reached “in the near future” on a strategic alliance with its Tokyo counterpart. “We have ongoing discussions with the Tokyo Stock Exchange about areas of possible business collaboration,” an LSE spokesman said. “We will make an announcement upon agreement in the near future,” he added.

New Delhi, Feb. 11: The Supreme Court will tomorrow hear an appeal filed by three members of the Birla family against Calcutta High Court’s decision rejecting their caveatable interests in the probate petition of R. S. Lodha in the Rs 5,000-crore Priyamvada Birla estate case.

New Delhi, Feb. 11: Hyundai Motors India Ltd (HMIL) has blamed the government for failing to encourage exports to make India a global hub. “The government does not support localisation and has done nothing to encourage exports,” HMIL managing director H. S. Lheem said.

New Delhi, Feb. 11: The traders engaged in retailing activities today opposed the entry of multi-national companies and big industries into the sector and demanded a statement from the government on UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s letter in this regard.
