ONGC net up 20%
New Delhi, Jan. 30: ONGC’s net profit in the third quarter ended December 31, 2006 was Rs 4,668 crore, up 20 per cent from Rs 3,888 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. This takes the company’s net profit in the first nine months of this financial year to Rs 12,961 crore, which is 14 per cent higher than the Rs 11,345 crore it had raked in during the same period last year. The turnover of the company has increased 25 per cent to Rs 15,631 crore.
Essar Oil
Mumbai, Jan. 30: Essar Oil’s net profit went up to Rs 12 lakh during the third quarter ended December 31 against a net loss of Rs 21.83 crore during the same quarter last year. Net sales increased to Rs 137.21 crore during the quarter from Rs 76.69 crore a year ago.
Strides plan
Mumbai, Jan. 30: Strides Arcolab will set up a joint venture firm with Spain-based Invent Farma Group to develop a range of products focusing mainly on hospitals in Spain and Portugal. The JV company will be called Laboratorios Domac.
LLP bill
Mumbai, Jan. 30: The limited liability partnership (LLP) bill is expected to be introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament, company affairs minister P.C. Gupta said.
Market closed
Mumbai, Jan. 30: Major markets, including the Bombay Stock Exchange, the National Stock Exchange, forex and spices, oils and oilseeds, remained closed today on account of Muharram.
