Patna: Rising star Saina Nehwal and third seed Chetan Anand won the women’s and men’s titles respectively at the 71st Senior National Badminton Championship here on Sunday.

Saina of PSPB struggled for half-an-hour against teammate Aditi Mutatkar to wrest the title from her, displaying her wrist-magic 21-19, 21-16.

After two years’ interval, PSPB’s Chetan lifted the trophy trouncing Air India’s Anand Pawar 21-18, 21-17.

In the men’s doubles, Rupesh Kumar and Sanavae Thomas emerged victors trouncing V. Diju and JBS Vidyadhar 21-9, 21-19. (PTI)
