Khan vs Bachchan update

The cold vibes between Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan seem to have warmed up a bit. King Khan was a surprise visitor at the Big B household last week while he was on his way to the sets of Farah Khan’s film Om Shanti Om. He landed there after completing the shooting of Kaun Banega Crorepati. The only time there was an uncomfortable moment was when someone asked Khan — within earshot of Bachchan — whether he thought he was matching up to the Big B on the TV show.

Anil and Asha

Anil Kapoor has been doing loads of riyaaz of late. The reason is that he is on the verge of joining the elite band of people who are exercising their vocal chords in Asha and Friends along with the legendary songstress. Kapoor has never been known for his singing. Competing with Anil riyaazwise is another new big Khan who plays the guitar as well as the tabla. Ashaji will be making a choice on which instrument he plays on the album.

Lata’s back too

Lata Mangeshkar is planning a comeback too. After her numbers in Veer Zaara, and later in Page 3, Lataji is now singing a number for a music video to be shot in Mumbai and Kerala. The song will also be picturised on her. While younger sister Asha has been recording ten songs a week, the petite elder one is being extremely choosy due to her frail health and voice.

Manoj loves ghar ka khana!

nHe may be the intense, brooding guy on screen, but off it, Manoj Bajpai is a man of simple nature. He likes eating ghar ka khana. Especially when he’s going out of town, he makes sure that he’s had his fill of home cooked food.

“My wife Neha takes care of what I eat and what I don’t. She’s the best thing to have happened to me,” says Manoj.

Ajay’s dilemma

Ajay Devgan has been working very hard to ensure that his wife, Kajol, acts well under his guidance. Ajay tried out some scenes but wasn’t happy with them because he felt that the Chopras and the Johars manage to extract much better performances from his pretty wife.

Saif impresses Yash Raj

Shah Rukh Khan may have been the Yash Raj favourite, but Saif Ali Khan is not far behind. The Chhote Nawab has the numero uno production house impressed. Recently, producer Aditya Chopra approached him for their first animation movie. The banner, who gave Saif films like Salaam Namaste and Hum Tum, asked him whether he would lend his voice to their new venture. Saif didn’t think twice. Last heard, Aditya was raving about him.
